Oak Island Beach Day
Starting off is this red, white, and blue-themed event right in town! Oak Island Beach Day celebrates the founding of Oak Island following the merging of Yaupon Beach and Long Beach. This annual event also features a host of family-friendly activities and games, including volleyball, a sandcastle contest, cornhole, and karaoke! Just across the bridge from Oak Island in Southport, this spectacular celebration has been running since 1972 and serves as the epicenter of Fourth of July festivities in the state! Each year, the event attracts 40,000 to 50,000 attendees for a celebration featuring an arts and crafts show, concessions, a massive parade with over 120 units, and a scholarship pageant. Independence Eve: Colonial Food & History

The Root of the Problem—18th Century Dentistry
